Choose tools by coverage, access and duty

A high piece count does not guarantee a useful set. Focus on the sizes, drive formats and tools used most often, then check whether they can reach the work and whether the storage system fits the shop, service vehicle or jobsite.

Choose by task

Compare the specifications that affect daily work

For hand tools, confirm metric, SAE or mixed coverage; drive size; socket depth and point style; ratchet access; and whether adapters or bits inflate the advertised count. For cordless tools, check platform compatibility, battery capacity, charger requirements and the tool’s stated performance under load.

Air equipment must be matched to delivered airflow at the pressure required by the tool, not only tank volume or peak motor claims. Lifting equipment requires an adequate rated capacity, stable contact points and the correct supporting equipment for the load and environment.

Capacity is not a target. Select and use lifting and powered equipment within the manufacturer’s ratings, instructions and applicable workplace requirements. Inspect equipment before use and provide appropriate operator protection.
